Properties of active ingredients :

Jojoba vegetable oil (Simmondsia chinensis) is much appreciated for its moisturizing, nourishing, softening, regulating, regenerating, rebalancing and antioxidant properties. Thanks to its many virtues and to its composition similar to skin sebum, it can be used for all skin types: dry to very dry, dehydrated, combination and sensitive, as it reinforces the hydrolipid layer of the skin and protects against free radicals [1]. It works in synergy with essential oils and improves the topical absorption of active ingredients [2].

Epaline oil (oxidized corn oil), thanks to a remarkable concentration in vitamin E (α-tocopherol) and PP, exerts beneficial effects on itching, redness and pain. It promotes the healing process thanks to its anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, repairing and antioxidant properties [3]. In the event of a prolonged exposure to the sun, jojoba and epaline oils act in synergy and profoundly hydrate the epidermis, promote the microcirculation of the skin and reduce the redness.

Calendula oil (Calendula officinalis) reveals remarkable antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties [4].

Mimosa Tenuiflora is commonly called the “skin tree” or Mexican Tepezcohuite. Thanks to its exceptional regenerative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and analgesic properties, it acts profoundly to relieve, treat and heal skin lesions and burns [5]. The efficacy of Mimosa Tenuiflora has been established on a wide variety of symptoms: itching, tingling, pain, as well as on various skin conditions: dryness, edema, maceration, cutaneous eruption, coloring and scaling [6]

Propolis is the product that bees are producing from a vegetal resin harvested from the buds, stems and barks of specific plants, which is subsequently combined with their own enzymes, pollen and wax [7]. It is recognized for its antibacterial, antioxidant, purifying, antiseptic, sotening and soothing natural properties [8].

Field horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is a common plant very rich in vegetable silica and renowned for its remineralizing, toning, firming, astringent and antioxidant effects [9], [10]. It stimulates collagen synthesis, improves skin’s firmness and toning and promotes the healing process of eczemas, acne, varicose ulcers, scabs and light wounds.

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is recognized for its softening, regenerative, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties [11]. It soothes and supports skin’s repairing capacity in the event of irritations, chapped skin, burns, cracks and redness.

Burdock (Arctium majus) fights against inflammation and skin infections by activating microcirculation. Anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antioxidant, soothing, purifying, astringent and antimicrobial, it is recommended for atopic, acne-prone, irritated, sensitive, combined and oily skin types [12].

Egyptian Rose Geranium essential oil (Pelargonium asperum cv Egypte) is a powerful circulatory tonic, hemostatic, antibacterial, healing and antioxidant [13]. It limits the production of free radicals, stimulates protein synthesis, protects collagen and regenerates the epidermis, thus playing and important antiaging role. Pelargonium essential oil inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory molecules while having calming and relaxing effects.

Copaiba essential oil (Copaifera officinalis) has analgesic and antiseptic properties, as well as a strong anti-inflammatory effect linked to the inhibition of COX-2 and 5-LOX, two enzymes of the arachidonic acid cascade. It reduces the inflammation associated with acne [14]. It is a resinous oil with anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antiseptic, germicidal, antifungal and antibacterial properties [15]. Copaiba oil intervenes in the healing process, thus being frequently recommended for topical treatments [16].

Lavandin grosso essential oil (Lavandula hybrida) is traditionally used to alleviate cramps, body aches, migraines, infectious and allergic dermatoses, sloughs, insect bites, wounds and superficial burns.

Santolina essential oil (Santolina chamecyparissus), thanks to its phytochemical composition, has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial [17], anti-infective and antifungal properties and fights against cutaneous parasitic infections [18]. The healing effect attributed to this essential oil helps skin to restructure.

Palmarosa essential oil (Cymbopogon martini) is renowned for its purifying, cleansing, antimicrobial, immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects [19].

Ho wood essential oil (Cinnamomum camphora) has tonic, revitalizing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and purifying properties with remarkable effects on different types of skin allergies and atopic dermatitis [20].
